Third Quarter 2011 Grants and Loans

In the third quarter of 2011, LISC/Chicago committed $6,689,057 in grants and loans to support communities around the city, including:

A $13,500 grant to Teamwork Englewood (TE) to coordinate the Green Healthy Neighborhood Land Use planning process in partnership with the City ofChicagoand CMAP.

A $3,612,967 loan to Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation (BRC) to bridge the committed TIF resource to enable construction of Zapata Apartments, a 61-unit affordable rental development.

A $30,000 project initiation loan to South Park Baptist Church (SPBC) to provide predevelopment funds for the proposed East of Eden 84-unit seniors’ development in Quad Communities.

A $210,000 grant to Mikva Challenge for two-year support of its anti-violence programming in the five Elev8 schools: Reavis,Marquette, Orozco,Ames, and Perspectives.

An $8,000 grant to Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN) to support its basketball camp in Chicago Lawn.

A $20,000 grant to Catholic Bishop ofChicago– St. Sabina in support of expanding its Family Net Center programming in Auburn Gresham.
