Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards
Established in 1995, the Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards annually recognize the best in community development in Chicago. The Awards were created to celebrate Chicago’s neighborhoods, the best community development projects, and the not-for-profit and for-profit organizations behind them.
In 1999, CNDA also incorporated the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Award for Excellence in Architecture and Community Design which, as its name suggests, honors and promotes quality design in our city’s neighborhoods.
LISC/Chicago manages the program, usually held in February, which attracts an audience of approximately 1300 each year. Funding for the program comes principally from sponsorships, which generally allows the program to break even.
