Education

LISC Chicago supports Elev8 and other education-related initiatives that help community-based lead agencies address education concerns and improve schools in their neighborhoods.

Elev8, LISC Chicago's main education program, seeks to transform the educational achievement and life outcomes of disadvantaged middle school students in six Chicago schools - FunstonMarquette, McAuliffeOrozco, Perspectives and ReavisElev8 Chicago envisions these young people graduating from 8th grade ready to make the important choices of adolescence.

Schools are stepping stones to improved skills, better jobs and higher incomes. LISC and partners work with Chicago Public Schools, City Colleges of Chicago and others to create the conditions for academic success.
